पर्यावरण संरक्षण के लिए प्रदेश के छोटे से सीमावर्ती शहर फाजिल्का में किया गया एक तजुर्बा माननीय पंजाब एवं हरियाणा हाईकोर्ट को इतना भाया है कि उसे अमृतसर में लागू करवाने के बाद अब लुधियाना व पटियाला में लागू करवाने के निर्देश दिए गए हैं।
माननीय उच्च न्यायालय ने सु मोटो एक्शन के तहत फाजिल्का में शुरू किए गए ईको कैब का मॉडल अब पूरे पंजाब में अपनाने के लिए कहा है।
उल्लेखनीय है कि फाजिल्का में परंपरागत रिक्शा जोकि करीब 90 किलोग्राम का होता है, की जगह मेटल और फाइबर बॉडी वाला 60 किलो वजनी रिक्शा दो साल पहले लांच किया गया था। इसका उद्देश्य रिक्शा चालकों को स्वस्थ बनाए रखना और लोगों को दुपहिया, तिपहिया और कार जैसे वाहनों में ईधन जलाकर वातावरण प्रदूषित करने से रोकना था। यह रिक्शा समाजसेवी संगठन ग्रेजुएट वेलफेयर एसोसिएशन के सचिव नवदीप असीजा ने तैयार करवाया था। इस बारे में छपे समाचारों का संज्ञान लेते हुए माननीय उच्च न्यायालय ने गुरु नगरी अमृतसर के रिक्शा चालकों के लिए रिक्शा का यह मॉडल लागू करने के लिए कहा था। इस पर अमृतसर के डीसी केएस पन्नू ने छह अक्टूबर को फाजिल्का की ईको कैब जैसे 10 रिक्शा लांच किए हैं व सौ नए रिक्शा का आर्डर दे दिया गया है। साथ ही अमृतसर में भविष्य में बनने वाले सभी रिक्शों को उसी मॉडल के बनने की व्यवस्था लागू कर दी है।
अब फिर से माननीय उच्च न्यायालय ने सु मोटो एक्शन लेते हुए पटियाला के 15 और लुधियाना के 40 हजार रिक्शा चालकों के लिए भी फाजिल्का की ईको कैब जैसे रिक्शा अपनाने के लिए कहा है। साथ ही नए बनने वाले रिक्शा में पीने के लिए पानी, फर्स्ट एड बॉक्स, एफएम रेडियो तथा कूड़ादान आदि लगाने के लिए कहा गया है। माननीय उच्च न्यायालय के आदेशों पर प्रशासन द्वारा अमल से पहले समाजसेवी संगठन इसके लिए आगे आ गए हैं। पटियाला में दी पटियाला फाउंडेशन और लुधियाना में गुरुनानक देव इंजीनियरिंग कालेज के प्रबंधन ने लुधियाना में ईको कैब लांच करने बारे फाजिल्का के ईको कैब निर्माताओं को बुलावा भेजा है। पटियाला में 15 अक्टूबर और लुधियाना में दीवाली के बाद ईको कैब प्रोजेक्ट पर काम शुरू किया जाएगा।

Website for online sale of Fazilka goods

The Graduate Welfare Association Fazilka (GWAF) has introduced online sale of famous Fazilka goods on its website www.lovefazilka.org/store. The website was launched today at the local Pratap Bagh by the president (GWAF) Umesh Chander Kukkar and senior members Sanjeev Nagpal. People can buy world-famous Fazilka jutti (handmade embroidered leather shoe) and other Fazilka merchandises online from today.
After launching the website general secretary, GWAF, Navdeep Asija, while interacting with the media said in the first phase four types of Jutti (two types of each for men and women), some books written by Fazilka-based authors, two types of cotton made T-shirts and Compact Disc (Fazilka Shahar Hamara Hai) would be available for online sale. The significant aspect of the online sale is that these commodities would be available at competitive prices as it would be sold on direct selling pattern. The merchandise could be shipped to the purchaser after depositing the money in advance. This 'Tilla Jutti' has been registered as a geographical indicator to the name of Fazilka under the Patent Act of India. Notably, the Fazilka 'Tilla Jutti' had been the choice of former president of India Giani Zail Singh, former chief ministers of Punjab Partap Singh Kairon and Beant Singh, and Badal family, artist Bhagwant Mann, among others.

अमृतसर राह के राजकुमार का ठाठ-बाठ बदल गया है। देश की सबसे पुरानी सवारी अब शाही रौब में नजर आने लगी है। रिक्शा पर सवारी से आपके शान में गुस्ताखी नहीं होगी। आईआईटी के विशेषज्ञों की सलाह के बाद पंजाब के अमृतसर शहर की सड़कों पर अब रेडियो रिक्शा उतर आई है। आप रिक्शा पर बैठे कामनवेल्थ गेम में भारत की झोली में गिरे पदकों की गिनती से लेकर क्रिकेट मैच तक की खबर रख सकते हैं। यही नहीं आपकी सहूलियत के लिए फर्स्ट एड बाक्स के अलावा इसमें आग से निपटने के लिए बकायदा अग्निरोधक यंत्र भी लगाए गए हैं। सच पूछिए तो यह रिक्शा पीआरटीसी की बस को भी मात दे रही है। डीसी काहन सिंह पन्नू इसे रिक्शा के बजाए इको कैब कहते हैं। वह कहते हैं कि सौ साल से रिक्शा का एक ही रंग रुप है। हर तकनीक में विकास हुआ, तो फिर रिक्शा का क्यों नहीं? यही वजह है कि आईआईटी के विशेषज्ञ से सलाह के बाद प्रशासन ने रिक्शा के नए रंग-रुप को इजाद किया है। चूंकि देश-विदेश के लाखों सैलानी यहां आते हैं, इसलिए कुछ अनूठा प्रयास वाजिब भी है। खास बात यह है कि रिक्शा चलाने वाले अब इसके लिए मालिक के शरण में नहीं जाएंगे। वह जितना कमाएंगे सीधे बैंक को देंगे। 10 हजार के रिक्शा का किश्त अदा करने के बाद इसे चलाने वाले की यह मलकियत होगी। डीसी ने बकायदा बैंक से महज 4 फीसदी ब्याज दर पर रिक्शा देने की विशेष व्यवस्था भी करवाई है। आधुनिक रिक्शा उतरने से इसे चलाने वाले और सवारी दोनों मस्त होंगे। रिक्शा का भार आम रिक्शा से 35 किलो कम है। रिक्शा में लो फ्लोर है। बच्चे व बुजुर्ग इस पर आसानी से सवार हो सकते हैं। कार की तरह रिक्शा में सीट बेल्ट है। मनोरंजन के लिए रेडियो का आनंद उठा सकते हैं। रिक्शा में शहर का पर्यटन का नक्शा भी होगा ताकि पर्यटकों को सुविधा मिले। अमृतसर के विरासती व एतिहासिक शहर की छवि को चरितार्थ करते हुए रिक्शा में बकायदा गुंबद व आर्क भी हैं। इसके पीछे प्रशासन ने खालसा कालेज की एतिहासिक इमारत की तस्वीर लगाने की भी सोची है। आधुनिक रिक्शा को हरी झंडी पर्यटन विभाग की ओर से जिला प्रशासन ने 5 आधुनिक रिक्शा को मंगलवार को हरी झंडी दी गई। डीसी काहन सिंह पन्नू, एडीसी प्रवीण कुमार, पर्यटन अधिकारी बलराज सिंह, एक्सईएन पीके गोयल मौके पर तैनात थे। गीत सुन गद्गद् थे रिक्शा चालक रिक्शा अब उसके लिए कार सरीखे है। जिस रिक्शा को खींचकर वह पसीने से लथपथ थे आज उसी रिक्शा में बज रहे गीत सुन वह गदगद थे। जितेन्द्र सिंह, मोहन सिंह, गुरदयाल सिंह, जसबीर सिंह, भोला सिंह रिक्शा पाकर आज धन्य हो गया। गरीबों का हक नहीं मारा जाएगा गुरु नगरी में सड़कों पर करीब 25 हजार रिक्शा है। ज्यादातर रिक्शा मालिक किराए पर चलते हैं। रिक्शा चलाने वाले दिन भर मेहनत कर अपने मालिक को 25 से 30 रुपये देने को विवश हैं। पर, प्रशासन के पहल से अब यह जुल्म नहीं होगा। गरीबों की हक नहीं मारी जाएगी, वह किराये पर रिक्शा चलाने के बजाए बैंक से सस्ते दर पर कर्ज लेकर अब वह रिक्शा के सीधे मालिक बनेंगे।

A quiet revolution is in the offing for users of public transport in the holy city of Amritsar. Unsafe cycle rickshaws will soon be replaced by specially designed eco-friendly cycle rickshaws, thanks to the state Tourism Department's initiative. In a first-of-its-kind feature, the new rickshaw will be equipped with a small FM stereo, fixed in an intelligently designed space beneath the roof. The control panel of the FM would be at the disposal of the passengers.
Made of a green steel frame, contrasting with a yellow canvas canopy, this rickshaw is an eco-friendly mode of transport. It is lighter in weight in comparison to the traditional rickshaws. The safety aspect is the highlight of the new model.
The approach to the passenger seat has been kept low. The two steps offer an advantage for elders, ladies and children. It has also been equipped with a seat safety belt and there is also a provision for a first-aid box kit, newspapers and a small trash box at the back to avoid littering on the road .
Additional luggage space under the passenger seat too would add to the comfort of the passengers.
Manufactured by a Delhi-based firm, the Punjab government has ordered 10 rickshaws at present. The vehicles are being assembled on the premises of the Red Cross Bhawan.
The Deputy Commissioner Amritsar, KS Pannu, elaborated on the detailing of the cycle rickshaw. The canopy has been designed in a way that it would give an impression of the heritage arch of the Khalsa College building. Unlike ordinary rickshaws, it weighs around 65 kg, against the 100 kg weight of existing ordinary rickshaws. The number wooden components used has been reduced. Hollow steel pipes have been used to frame it. Mango wood, which is lighter in weight has been used as a support beneath the seat and the backrest.
The idea of introducing new rickshaws was conceptualised by the Department of Tourism, Punjab, and the Amritsar administration. The services of Graduates' Welfare Association, Fazilka, were engaged to implement the project. The rickshawpullers were excited with the new venture and felt that their dream of owning a rickshaw could be fulfilled.

TAPI pipeline: India for clarity on security issues, transit fee

India would like contentious issues such as security, gas price, and transit fee on the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline network to be resolved before December. "We would like these issues to be resolved before December when a proposed meeting of the Heads of the States of the partner countries is expected," a senior official told Business Line.
Pakistan's assurance
On the security concerns raised by India for the 800 km stretch of the over 1,680-km pipeline network that will fall in Pakistan, the Pakistani side has agreed to give a presentation and allay the apprehensions.The network in Pakistan will pass through Quetta, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, and Pakpattan. It will enter India from Fazilka in Punjab. "Pakistan has agreed to give a presentation before the official-level technical working group on how it will handle the security of the network," Mr Jitin Prasada, Minister of State for Petroleum & Natural Gas, told Business Line.
Afghanistan was the first to offer to give a presentation at the next technical group meeting on how it will handle the security of the network for the 735-km stretch, which falls in its region. A stretch of the network will pass through Kandahar, Afghanistan.
Transit fee
"The project will get us about 38 mscmd of gas. Looking at the significance of this project to make it successful it is important that all stakeholders should recognise certain facts. The transit fee for the gas through various countries be kept at minimum, the security issues be properly addressed, and there should be complete clarity on the institutional mechanisms for this," he said.
"Before taking this project further, the pricing and other Gas Sales Purchase Agreement (GSPA) issues need to be resolved to the full satisfaction of all partner countries," he added.
Tech group meetings
"There are two more technical group meetings to be held that would be followed by steering group meetings," he added. Mr Prasada was recently in Turkmenistan to sign the initialisation of the Gas Pipeline Framework Agreement (GPFA) and the Heads of Agreements for the proposed GSPA.
The TAPI project envisages constructing a 1,680 km of pipeline with a total gas capacity of 90 mscmd. The length of pipeline in Turkmenistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan up to Indian border is 145 km, 735 km and 800 km, respectively.

Eco-friendly rickshaws to give passengers a musical ride-Fazilka Ecocab Experiment

To be launched this year, new rickshaws will have FM radio, seatbelt, first-aid box, reading material, dustbin and fire extinguisher
The new Amritsar rickshaw, which will be launched in the holy city within this year, is going to offer passengers a musical ride. In a first-of-its-kind feature, the rickshaw will be fitted with a small FM radio on the roof, with the control panel for the channels within easy reach of passengers. In addition, it has also been provided with a seat belt for the comfort of small children or aged persons who may use the rickshaw.
The humble rickshaw has caught the fancy of civic developers in Punjab. The lightweight version of the environment-friendly transport is one of the pet projects of Punjab Tourism and the district administration of Amritsar. And Patiala Foundation, an NGO based in the aristocratic city of Punjab, is readying to launch the 'Patiala Green Cab', with plans to introduce the dial-a-rickshaw facility in the city.
Meanwhile, 10 Amritsar rickshaws designed and made by a Delhi-based firm reached the holy city today. The back canopy of the rickshaw has been given the shape of the arch of Khalsa College. The arch is a major feature of Sikh architecture. Deputy Commissioner Amritsar K S Pannu told The Indian Express that with the help of the Red Cross, the district administration is identifying the 10 rickshaw-pullers who will be given new rickshaws manufactured for the city.
"The lightweight rickshaws that we will introduce in the city will be functionally better and will have an aesthetic appeal too. People will start demanding these rickshaws, and we want the local manufacturers to start making more and more of these for the city," he said.
Sandeep Arora, the Delhi-based manufacturer of these rickshaws, said that he has provided a first-aid box, space for keeping newspapers or magazines, and a small dustbin on the side so that passengers do not litter the city roads. A small fire-extinguisher has been provided too. Navdeep Asija, who has been actively working with the Amritsar administration on this project, added that the colour of the new Amritsar rickshaw is green, to reflect that it is an environment-friendly vehicle.

Arora stated that while the cost of the lightweight rickshaw in Delhi is Rs 8,000, the Amritsar rickshaw may be priced about 15 per cent higher because of the added features. Punjab Principal Secretary (Tourism) Geetika Kalha told The Indian Express that while the budget for the new rickshaw is Rs 7,000 to Rs 15,000, it would be better if the cost worked out closer to the bottom level, so that it would be easy for the rickshaw-puller to repay the loan taken from the bank to buy it.
Meanwhile, the Patiala Foundation is working on the introduction of the green cab in the city. Foundation General Secretary Ravee Aahluwalia told The Indian Express that the dial-a-rickshaw facility will be introduced in October. "We have divided the city into 12 zones for the purpose. We are talking to banks for micro-financing of the lightweight rickshaws that we want to introduce here. But our welfare measures will extend to all rickshaw-pullers," he said.
On the pattern of the work done in Fazilka, the Patiala Foundation has decided to issue identity cards to all rickshaw-pullers. Aahluwalia said that tie-ups have been made with doctors to offer free consultancy and subsidised treatment facility to rickshaw-pullers. "Our effort is to work for the benefit of the rickshaw-pullers. We also want to offer an organised, efficient service to the residents of the city so that we are able to reduce both pollution and congestion on roads," said Aahluwalia.

Amritsar Car Free Zone & Ecocabs Rickshaw-India
It gives me immense pleasure to inform you that after successful implementation of Car Free Zone at Fazilka and Ferozpur, Amritsar is going to be the third border city, which has introduced "Car Free Zone" from Today. Border areas which are supposed to be considered backward are taking up the most advanced and sustainable city initiatives. Local shopkeepers are protesting without realizing the fact that globally pedestrian friendly commercial areas have maximum revenue. Three Indian cities example endorse the same; Sector 17 Chandigarh, world's biggest pedestrian shopping mall, 14km long World's longest Shimla Mall Road and Chandani Chowk, Delhi. Let's follow the legacy set by first Sikh Guru Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, who himself taught the lessons of "Kirat Karo, Naam Japo and Vand Chakoo" to the world by travelling more than 28,000 km of distance as pedestrian.

Punjab to introduce Ecocabs in Amritsar
The Punjab government has decided to introduce modified rickshaws (Ecocabs) in Amritsar city. The introduction of these rickshaws in other cities will be considered on the basis of the experience and feedback received by the Department of Tourism.
An affidavit to this effect was filed by Hussan Lal, Special Secretary, Tourism and Cultural Affairs, in response to a suo motu notice taken by Chief Justice Mukul Mudgal on a news item published in The Indian Express on April 26.
The news item had highlighted the role of School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), New Delhi, at the asking of Graduates' Welfare Association of Fazilka, in designing a lighter cyclerickshaw named Ecocab.
During the resumed hearing of the case on Tuesday, the state submitted: "The Department of Tourism had engaged GWAF to undertake a study of traffic pattern in Amritsar and suggest measures to introduce modified rickshaws (Ecocabs). Navdeep Asija of the association prepared a study report and presented before a committee comprising officials of the Tourism department, the mayor and commissioner of Amritsar. The committee found the introduction of modified rickshaws feasible. A meeting was held on September 9 where the methodology for introduction of the project was discussed."
An affidavit to this effect was filed by Hussan Lal, Special Secretary, Tourism and Cultural Affairs, in response to a suo motu notice taken by Chief Justice Mukul Mudgal on a news item published in The Indian Express on April 26.
The news item had highlighted the role of School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), New Delhi, at the asking of Graduates' Welfare Association of Fazilka, in designing a lighter cyclerickshaw named Ecocab.
During the resumed hearing of the case on Tuesday, the state submitted: "The Department of Tourism had engaged GWAF to undertake a study of traffic pattern in Amritsar and suggest measures to introduce modified rickshaws (Ecocabs). Navdeep Asija of the association prepared a study report and presented before a committee comprising officials of the Tourism department, the mayor and commissioner of Amritsar. The committee found the introduction of modified rickshaws feasible. A meeting was held on September 9 where the methodology for introduction of the project was discussed."

प्रदूषण के खतरे ने बनाया पर्यावरण प्रेमी

एक तरफ पेड़ों की अंधाधुंध कटाई हो रही है, वहीं पर्यावरण की चिंता करने वाले लोग भी हैं, उनका जुनून दूसरों के लिए प्रेरणा बन गया है। ऐसे ही एक शख्स हैं गांव साबूआना, फाजिल्का के प्रेम कुमार भदरेचा। उन्होंने एक साल के भीतर एक हजार पौधे गांव के नहरों, सरकारी स्कूलों व खेतों के किनारों पर लगाए हैं।
गौर हो कि भारत विकास परिषद से जुड़े प्रेम कुमार को दो साल पहले औद्योगिक इकाइयों वाले शहरों में जाना पड़ा। वहां धुएं व अन्य प्रकार के प्रदूषण और उससे बीमार पड़ रहे लोगों को देख उनके मन में पर्यावरण संरक्षण का भाव उत्पन्न हुआ। इसके बाद उन्होंने पौधे लगाने का सिलसिला शुरू किया। करीब डेढ़ सौ पौधे आठ से 10 फुट ऊंचे वृक्ष का रूप धारण कर चुके हैं। प्रेम कुमार अपने खेत व घर में ही नर्सरी बना कर पौधे तैयार कर रहे हैं। वे ज्यादातर नीम के पौधे तैयार करते हैं। इन पौधों को स्कूलों, खेतों व नहरों किनारे लगाने में जुटे रहते हैं। एक साल के भीतर वह एक हजार पौधे लगा चुके हैं। भारत विकास परिषद परिवार में वह पर्यावरण प्रेमी के नाम से प्रसिद्ध हो चुके हैं। 'दैनिक जागरण' के साथ बातचीत में प्रेम कुमार ने बताया कि पौधारोपण से उन्हें आंतरिक खुशी मिलती है।

Amritsar to have modified cycle rickshaws soon

LIGHT WEIGHT `ECO CABS' TO RUN IN PILOT PROJECT; OTHER CITIES TO FOLLOW LATER, GOVT TELLS HC
The Department of Tourism, Punjab, will introduce modified cycle rickshaws (Eco Cabs), which are much lighter in weight than the traditional ones, in Amritsar city as a pilot project.
The same would be introduced in other cities on the basis of the Amritsar experience.
Hussan Lal, Special Secretary, Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Punjab, brought this to the notice of Punjab and Haryana High Court on Tuesday through an affidavit. He said during a September 9 meeting, attended by Director, Tourism, Amritsar Deputy Commissioner and officials of Municipal Corporation Amritsar, methodology of introduction of this project was discussed. The issue of financing the rickshaws through various banks was also discussed and the Deputy Commissioner agreed to implement the project.
It was also informed that the Department of Tourism had engaged Graduates Welfare Association Fazilka (GWAF) to undertake a study of traffic pattern in Amritsar and suggest measures to introduce modified rickshaws.
The Punjab and Haryana High Court had earlier taken suo motu cognisance of a news item, which appeared in English daily on April 26, highlighting the role of School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), New Delhi, at the asking of GWAF in designing a lighter cycle rickshaw named as `Eco Cab'. GWAF named it `Fazilka Nano' and launched on April 4 at Fazilka Heritage Festival. The High Court converted it into a public interest litigation and issued notice to Punjab.
The High Court order dated April 28 read, "With its transformation into Eco Cab, it is on the way to become a viable and eco-friendly mean of transport for all...."

पानी व्यर्थ बहाने से बाज नहीं आ रहे लोग

फाजिल्का में समाजसेवी संगठनों द्वारा जल बचाने के लिए छेड़ी गई मुहिम के प्रति लोगों द्वारा दिखाई जा रही बेरूखी से यही लगता है कि उनको पानी की कोई कद्र नहीं है। यही कारण है कि दो समाजसेवी संगठनों द्वारा गली व मोहल्ले में घूमकर पानी व्यर्थ बहा रही सप्लाई वाली जिन पाइपों पर टूटियां लगाई गई थीं, उनमें से कई फिर से उखाड़ दिए गए हैं।
उल्लेखनीय है कि फाजिल्का में ग्रेजुएट वेलफेयर एसोसिएशन ने सबसे पहले मुहिम चलाकर नई आबादी, धींगड़ा कालोनी, टीचर कालोनी आदि इलाकों में घरों के बाहर लगी पेयजल आपूर्ति की पाइपों पर वाल्व व टूटियां लगानी शुरू की थीं। वहीं सोशल वेलफेयर सोसायटी ने भी खुली पाइपों पर टूटियां व वाल्व लगाने के अलावा हर सप्ताह एक मोहल्ले में जल प्रभातफेरी निकालनी शुरू की है।
सोसायटी के अध्यक्ष राजकिशोर कालड़ा के अनुसार उनकी संस्था अब तक 70 व ग्रेजुएट वेलफेयर एसोसिएशन के सचिव इंजीनियर नवदीप असीजा के अनुसार उनकी संस्था ने 63 पाइपों पर टूटियां व वाल्व लगवाए हैं। इस कार्य में दोनों संगठन प्लंबर, सामान, जागरूकता के लिए साउंड सिस्टम, पर्चे बंटवाने आदि पर करीब 15 से 20 हजार रुपये खर्च कर चुके हैं।
जब दैनिक जागरण ने दोनों संस्थाओं द्वारा लगाई टूटियों का जायजा लिया तो करीब 20 पाइपों से लोगों ने टूटियां व वाल्व फिर से उखाड़ दिए थे। पता चला कि लोग मोटरों से ज्यादा पानी खींचने के लिए उन पर मोटी पाइप चढ़ाते हैं और पानी भरने के बाद पाइप को खुला छोड़ देते हैं। नतीजतन पानी फिर से बेकार बहने लगता है।
नगर परिषद से प्राप्त आंकड़ों के अनुसार प्रतिदिन एक टूटी पर चार सौ लीटर पानी सप्लाई किया जाता है। दोनों संगठनों ने करीब सवा सौ टूटियों से महीने भर में व्यर्थ जाने वाला 22 लाख लीटर पानी बचाने का प्रयास किया है। लेकिन फिर से 20 पाइपों से नल उखाड़े जाने के कारण फिर से करीब दो लाख लीटर पानी बेकार जाने लगा है। लोगों के इस रवैये से दोनों संगठन हताश हैं। उन्होंने लोगों से अपील की है कि वे पानी को व्यर्थ मत जानें दें।

नेशनल टी-20 क्रिकेट चैंपियनशिप मेजबानी का मौका फाजिल्का को

भारत-पाक सरहद पर बसे ऐतिहासिक नगर फाजिल्का में साल 2009 में राष्ट्रीय व अंतरराष्ट्रीय टी-20 मैचों के सफल आयोजन के बाद एक बार फिर से इंडियन टी-20 क्रिकेट फेडरेशन ने पंजाब टी-20 एसोसिएशन को राष्ट्र स्तरीय टी-20 मुकाबलों की मेजबानी का मौका दिया है। एसोसिएशन ने फाजिल्का-अबोहर व जलालाबाद में तीन जगह 26 सितंबर से सरदार वल्लभ भाई पटेल नेशनल टी-20 चैंपियनशिप करवाने की घोषणा की है।
उक्त जानकारी देते हुए इंडियन टी-20 के लायजन आफिसर फाजिल्का निवासी पंकज धमीजा ने बताया कि टूर्नामेंट में विभिन्न राज्यों व केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों की 32 टीमें भाग ले रही हैं। इन टीमों को दो भागों में बांटकर मुकाबले करवाए जाएंगे। इस मौके पर मुख्य अतिथि यूथ अकाली नेता करण गिलहोत्रा ने प्रतियोगिता के बैनर का लोकार्पण किया, जिसका स्लोगन क्रिकेट का द्वितीय महासंग्राम दिया गया है।

परिवहन मंत्री पंजाब मास्टर मोहन लाल ने मंगलवार शाम को श्री अरोड़वंश भवन में सरहद सोशल वेलफेयर सोसायटी द्वारा आयोजित अध्यापक सम्मान समारोह में बेहतरीन सेवाएं देने वाले 25 शिक्षकों को सम्मानित किया। उन्होंने कहा कि अध्यापक पर पूरे राष्ट्र की जिम्मेदारी है और जो इसका निर्वाह नहीं कर सकता उसे अध्यापन छोड़कर अन्य पेशा अपना लेना चाहिए।
उन्होंने सोसायटी के प्रकल्प की सराहना की। कार्यक्रम की अध्यक्षता विधायक सुरजीत ज्याणी ने की। उपस्थिति को समाज सेवक कर्ण गिल्होत्रा ने भी संबोधित किया।

पाक ने जब अचानक किया हमला-1965 India Pakistan War at Fazilka
लंबे समय से खड़ी सीमा विवाद, सांप्रदायिक और तनाव के चलते कश्मीर मुद्दे के सवाल पर पाकिस्तान ने छह सितंबर को अचानक फाजिल्का पर हमला कर दिया। भारत पाक युद्ध की औपचारिक घोषणा के बिना शुरू हुए 1965 के इस युद्ध की शुरुआत में फाजिल्का क्षेत्र को काफी नुकसान उठाना पड़ा, लेकिन जब भारतीय सेना के जांबाज जवानों ने ऑपरेशन रिडल शुरू किया तो पाकिस्तानी रेंजर अधिक देर तक उनके सामने नहीं टिक पाये।
फाजिल्का हो गया खाली
फाजिल्का शहर और आसपास के गांवों में सांय सात बजे खुशनुमा माहौल था। मजदूर घर लौट रहे थे। घरों में रात का खाना बनाने के काम में महिलाएं जुट चुकी थी। एकदम बलैक आऊट हुआ तो लोगों ने समझा कि रात को बत्ती गुल होना रोजाना का कार्य है, लेकिन रात होते ही पाकिस्तानी सेना की ओर से एक लड़ाकू जहाज फाजिल्का शहर में एकदस घुसा। चारों ओर सन्नाटा छा गया। किसी को समझ नहीं आ रहा था कि एकदम क्या हो गया। घोषणा हुई कि पाकिस्तान की ओर से युद्ध शुरू कर दिया गया है। गालियों की गडग़राहट सुनाई पड़ी तो लोग जैसे तैसे अपना जरूरी सामान बांधने लगे। किसी को पता नहीं था कि किधर जाना है, मगर सभी चल पड़े। मलोट रोड़ पर भारतीय सेना के आने के कारण लोगों ने अपना रूख अबोहर की ओर कर लिया। दो तीन घंटे में ही फाजिल्का सुनसान हो गया।
14 पंजाब ने रोका पाक को
फाजिल्का के सरहदी गांव मोहमदपीर, नूरन और चानन वाला की ओर से पाकिस्तानी सेना आगे बढ़ रही थी। भारतीय सेना भी जानती थी कि पाकिस्तान को रोकने के लिए सतलुज दरिया हिमालय का काम कर रहा है। इस कारण पाकिस्तान महातम नगर की ओर से हमला नहीं कर सकता। इस कारण भारतीय सेना भी फाजिल्का से उन गांवों में पहुंंच गई, जिस ओर से पाकिस्तानी सेना ने युद्ध की शुरूआत की थी। पाक सेना सुलेमानकी बॉर्डर से बंबबारी कर रही थी। उनका सामना करने के लिए भारतीय सेना की 14 पंजाब बटालियन भी पहुंच गई। उन्होंने पाकिस्तानी सेना का डटकर मुकाबला शुरू कर दिया और पाकिस्तानी सेना आगे बढऩे से रूक गई। पाक को पता चल चुका था कि अब इस ओर से आगे बढऩा असंभव है। इस कारण पाक सेना दूसरी ओर आगे बढऩे लगी और गांव चाननवाली तक पहुंच गई।

जमीन के लिए नगर सुधार ट्रस्ट और वक्फ बोर्ड आमने-सामने
मिनी सचिवालय के सामने पड़ी भूमि को लेकर नगर सुधार ट्रस्ट व वक्फ बोर्ड
आमने सामने हो गया है। मामला अब सिटी थाना पहुंच गया है और दोनों विभागों
ने एक दूसरे के खिलाफ कार्रवाई करने की शिकायत भी दे दी है। एक ओर ट्रस्ट

ट्रस्ट के चेयरमैन महिन्द्र धींगड़ा ने बताया कि सचिवालय के सामने पड़ी
जगह पर ट्रस्ट का कब्जा है और वहां बोर्ड और फैंसिंग लगी हुई है। कई
स्थानों से तारबंदी टूट चुकी थी। वहां पिल्लर और तारबंदी के लिए एक
ठेकेदार को ठका दिया हुआ है। ठेकेदार ने वहां सीमेंट व अन्य सामान भेज
दिया। इसका पता चलते ही वक्फ बोर्ड अधिकारी ने कुछ साथियों सहित तारबंदी
उखाड़ सीमेट और बोर्ड ख्ुार्दबुर्द कर दिया। बोर्ड की ओर से चेयरमैन के
खिलाफ शिकायत की गई है। उधर, महिन्द्र धींगड़ा ने भी पुलिस से शिकायत कर
दी है। धींगड़ा का कहना है कि वह यहां डा. बीआर अंबेदकर मार्केट बनवाना
चाहते हैं। मंजूरी मिल चुकी है।
58 लोगों को भेजा नोटिस
अबोहर रोड पर राम शरणम आश्रम के सामने पड़ी ट्रस्ट की भूमि पर निर्माण
करवाने पर नगर सुधार ट्रस्ट ने 58 लोगों को धारा 38 का नोटिस भेजा गया
है। चेयरमैन धींगड़ा ने बताया कि इन लोगों को एक माह का समय दिया गया है।
यदि इस दौरान वे अपना पक्ष रखना चाहते है तो उनका पक्ष सरकार को भेज दिया
जाएगा। यदि उन्होंने अपना पक्ष नहीं रखा तो सैक्शन 40 के तहत नोटिस भेजकर
कानूनी कार्रवाई की जाएगी। यहा करीब अढ़ाई एकड़ भूमि है, जिस पर ट्रस्ट
अपना दावा रखता है
